ABOUT THE PRINCIPAL

Sharon Becker JacobsonSharon Becker Jacobson, AIA has been a licensed architect in Massachusetts since 1996. She is a member of the American institute of Architects, The Boston Society of Architects, and the International Code Council. She received her MA in Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design in 1993 and her BA from Brown University in 1989. At Harvard, she was a teaching assistant for the core drawing course.

Her early professional training was at Gensler, first in the San Francisco and then the Boston office. She was trained in interior space planning and design of retail stores - custom and roll out, as well as health care clinics, law firms, and banks. She benefitted from the large firm corporate culture which successfully showed her how to infuse architecture with smart business practices. She later worked for Benjamin Thompson and Associates in Cambridge and was taught the skills of designing people oriented public spaces. She gained much experience with high end food court design.

After starting a family, Sharon turned her attention to residential and small institutional architectural projects, where she has enjoyed maintaining an active role in design and construction while balancing work and time with her children. Most recently, Sharon has expanded her design services to include Owner's Representation/Project Management. Sharon finds this new work challenging, engaging and rewarding as she now has the opportunity to add value to larger community oriented projects.
